The University has agreed a number of schemes and memberships with publishers to reduce the cost of publishing open access.
Please note that these deals do not act as an endorsement of any particular publisher. The agreements arise from an assessment of the financial benefit to the University and its researchers.
Discounts

| American Chemical Society | Individual memberships give authors further discounts. Authors who are members of the ACS and who are working at an institution that subscribes to their journals are eligible to a discount of up to US$750 on open access charges. |
| Frontiers | The Open Access team has a centralised invoicing arrangement with Frontiers that offers a 10% discount on open access fees for eligible papers. This is not a Read & Publish deal; eligibility is determined on a case-by-case basis. Please upload your accepted manuscript and a member of the Open Access Team will provide funding advice. If your paper has not yet been accepted, a member of the Open Access Team can provide in principle guidance. |
| MDPI | Membership entitles authors to a 10% discount. |
| PeerJ | Cambridge University has bought 100 Basic PeerJ memberships so Cambridge researchers may submit a claim for a Basic membership. Corresponding authors in PeerJ journals must be a member to allow the paper to be published in PeerJ. Articles are subject to an APC unless all authors of a publication are PeerJ members. In such a case there will be no APC for the open access article. |

Authors publishing in any of SAGE's fully open access journals will receive a 20% discount on the open access publication fee. The discount will be automatically applied to the prevailing rate APC for the journal. Where an author is eligible for more than one discount, discounts cannot be combined but the highest discount available to the author will be automatically applied to the APC due. | SCOAP3 | Cambridge University, through JISC Collections, participates in the SCOAP3 partnership. Certain key journals in high-energy physics have been made fully open access under this partnership, with no additional cost to authors, whereas other journals will only publish high-energy physics papers open access. |
